In 99 days the Oswego Public Library will celebrate it’s 100th anniversary! The countdown begins!

All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot is June’s Book Club selection. The life and tales of an English country vet is a classic.  Drop by on Monday, June 25 if you would like to join the book club discussion.

What a day!!!   Over 50 children participated in the Cupcake Kickoff that the Library offered to start off the Summer Reading program.  Children, parents, helpers, and Librarians filled the children’s room.   Icing and lots of extras were on hand to decorate the cupcakes.  A “sweet” deal!

The Fit for Life Relay Team from Oswego has made Luminaria Sacks available at the Oswego Public Library for purchase for $5.  Print your loved ones name on one side and decorate the rest of the sack as you wish.  The Luminaries will be available at the Library through June 10. Have a good memory of the Library?  As part of the Library’s 100th Birthday Celebration we would like for you to write down that memory and bring it into the Library.  All memories will be combined in a scrap book and be available at Oswegofest.  The Library has cards you can write your memory on

The Library will be closed the Saturday of Easter Weekend.  It will reopen on Tuesday, April 3 for regular hours.

April Coupon Swap will be on April 10th at 7:00 PM. Bring any unwanted coupons and a pair is scissors to the Oswego Public Library and be ready to trade and talk coupons. Come and go as you wish. Hope to see you there!

The Library will for the next 10 months receive 2 new large print Christian fiction books a month for their collection.  Starting in February the first selections will be; Blue Moon Bay by Lisa Wingate and Always the Wedding Planner, Never the Bride by Sandra D. Bricker.

Steve Jobs, Ellen Degeneres: Seriously I’m Kidding; just a few of the new non-fiction titles at the Library. Remember if the Library does not have what you want, the Library staff can always borrow it from another Library and with the courier, Inter-Library Loan is quicker.

Story hour is back on at the public library! Books, crafts, and fun on Saturdays from 10 a.m to 11! 2012 is going to be a great year for story hour!

As the year 2011 comes to a close the library staff would like to thank all the patrons that have been extremely generous this past year. The Library is still OPEN!!! Due to the waterline construction, the street in front of the library is closed. You may park on the east side of the Library and enter through the east entrance or park across the street and enter through the north door. We apologize for the inconvience.
