On display at the Oswego Library is the incredible counted cross-stitch work of Debbie Davolt.  In addition to the magnificent counted cross-stitch work in the picture there are 5 other intricate works of art on display in the cabinet at the Library.  The work of art pictured she started on October 30, 2013 and completed on December 8, 2014 with a total of 203 hours of cross stitching in the project.  Her husband constructed the stable frame for the picture on December 8, 2014 as well.

Debbie explained that she started counted cross-stitch at the suggestion of her mother 17 or 18 years ago.   Debbie remarked that she loved cross-stitching, especially the more intricate patterns.  She stated that the patterns seem to take on a life of their own as she is completing them.  She has finished a great many counted cross-stitch projects, some being given to family and friends as presents for special occasions over the years.  Her last project took her 2 ½ years to complete and is a wonderful work of a country cottage and garden.

Debbie lives in Oswego and is married to Tom Davolt; they celebrated 42 years of marriage this month.   She is the daughter-in-law of Lloyd and the late Betty Davolt, Oswego
