An Emporia, Kansas shoe store owner,Alfred King, had the idea to expand Armistice Day to include all veterans, not just those who served in World War I and began a campaign to change it to “all” Veteran’s Day. President Dwight Eisenhower signed it into law on May 26, 1954. Thank you to ALL Veterans!!!
